Patient Info

Consent or request to treat

Modern surgical practice places the patient at the centre of their care and you will hopefully find information on this site to allow you to give informed consent.

If you prefer, you are welcome to use the request to treat forms (or patient-centred consent forms) in addition to the standard consent from. They may be downloaded from www.rft.org.uk. If you do wish to use this form, please fill it out prior to surgery and bring it with you on the day of your operation.

How to live with your arthritis, or how to delay joint replacement

Many people have mild or moderate arthritis, which is a nuisance, but not yet severe enough to warrant replacing the damaged joint with a new one.

Please follow the link to www.arc.org.uk.

Once there navigate to the box “patient information”, then the box “publications for people with arthritis”, then “living with arthritis” and finally “diet and arthritis”; where you will find some very useful information about how diet and activity can help control your symptoms.
